Welcome to the CanStim Platform
Welcome to the Canadian Platform for Trials in Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation (CanStim), a national platform for cutting-edge research in non-invasive brain stimulation. This platform seeks to innovate new solutions to optimize stroke rehabilitation for Canadians affected by stroke. Headquartered in Montreal and Ottawa and spanning nationally with sites in Vancouver, Calgary, Kingston, Quebec City, and St. John’s, our multidisciplinary team of experts work collaboratively to advance evidence for the benefits of non-invasive brain stimulation, with a focus on repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for stroke recovery and other neurological conditions.
CanStim’s unique approach pioneers the integration of preclinical and clinical research to accelerate the development of TMS protocols for use in clinical trials. Our commitment to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration also extends to comprehensive training programs, empowering the next generation of researchers nationwide.
At CanStim, we are not just exploring the future; we are shaping it. Our platform accelerates the development of optimized stimulation protocols for stroke rehabilitation, working to bridge the translational gap for the use of TMS in clinical practice for stroke rehabilitation. Moreover, CanStim offers a unique opportunity for industry collaboration. By partnering with industry leaders, we expedite clinical trials, advance technological innovations, and ultimately enhance patient outcomes.
Supported by Brain Canada and other key stakeholders, CanStim is at the forefront of stroke rehabilitation research. Explore how we are working to make a difference in the lives of those affected by stroke.
CanStim provides access to a national multi-centre clinical trials platform and standardized operating procedures developed by leading experts. Our platform offers a network of experts to support researchers in conducting rigorous studies on non-invasive brain stimulation methods for stroke rehabilitation. With a focus on transparency and reproducibility, CanStim ensures that researchers have access to the latest methodologies and best practices, empowering them to advance the field of stroke recovery.
